Nicaise comes from the Captive Prince trilogy and a world where slavery is normal. Though he was not a slave, he was something slightly similar called a "pet", wherein he was under contract as a child to be an older man's sexual companion. So he was a victim of childhood sexual abuse since the age of 10, and since coming to Darrow will have tried to commit suicide - and so these things are bound to come up at times in his narrative. Please let me know if you'd like me to avoid tagging your pups completely, if you don't mind me tagging but would like me to try writing around him thinking or speaking on these things if I do, or if you have any questions on specifics as to what might come up.
